Urban Moves, Manchester’s feast of new and surprising outdoor performance is on the town again on Saturday 22 July. Inspiring, unusual and above all exciting dance events up in the air, off the wall in Exchange Square and kicking heel in Cathedral Gardens. Urban Moves is an official festival of worldwide Cities That Dance and this year leads Manchester with an exhilarating programme for the UK wide Big Dance.
Urban Moves is a bi-annual festival occurring only in 2006 as a partner of Big Dance. The next full Urban Moves Festival takes place in July 2007.

Big Dance, is a national celebration of dance presented by partners BBC, Arts Council England, the Mayor of London and everybody who takes part! A huge range of fun dance events are taking place throughout the country with celebrities, dance experts, parents, kids and grand-parents dancing live in the streets, in schools, arts centres, parks, museums, theatres and shopping centres.
Urban Moves 2005
One sunny weekend in July 2005 the much anticipated Urban Moves hit the streets of Manchester and Stockport.
For 3 days the city played host to some of the most inspiring and unusual dance performances staged in the most unexpected of places - have you ever come across a dance troupe on a construction site?
Urban Moves celebrated the unique cityscape and architecture of Manchester taking in such landmarks as Victoria Baths and Castlefield Docks.
World renowned companies from Britain, Spain and France were literally out on the town to entertain and amaze and approximately 6000 people attended (and joined in!).
